The CBT Board of Directors encourages interested individuals from the UNESCO Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Region to sign-up for membership on an Advisory Committee. Participating on these community-based Committees provides residents with an excellent opportunity to network with peers and contribute to a sustainable future for the region.
The Committee is in the process of compiling a database of all Marine & Aquatic related researchers, societies, stewards and more. The database will be used to distribute related announcements and funding opportunities. Please contact Rebecca at the CBT if you would like to be added to this list.
The Committee provides advice to the CBT Board on project proposals and priorities. The committee meets every 6 - 8 weeks and has broad representation from throughout the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve region. All meetings are opened to the public -- please feel welcome to join us. Contact Rebecca or Jean at the CBT to find out when the committee is meeting next.
Marine & Aquatic Terms of Reference
The Marine & Aquatic Committee has an annual budget of $10,000 for discretionary funding of research, education and training projects. Requests are received on an ongoing basis for small projects throughout the region. Proponents are strongly encouraged to attend committee meetings to present their request in order that they are available to answer questions. Although there is no template for applications, all requests should be made in writing to the CBT. The following table lists the Committee's discretionary spending.
